# Meeting Prep with the Schwab Integration

## Walk into every client meeting knowing exactly where the portfolio stands — Schwab holdings, transactions, balances, and cost basis, right at hand!

Zeplyn's Meeting Prep builds a suggested Agenda and Advisor Notes from the client's history, past meetings, and CRM data. With the Schwab integration connected, you can also review the client's live portfolio data from Schwab while you prepare — no separate login to Schwab Advisor Center required.

**Who can use it**

- Firms with the Schwab (Advisor Services) integration connected. Any user with valid Schwab Advisor Center (SAC) credentials can connect it — this does not require an org admin.
- Advisors preparing for meetings with a client who is linked to their Schwab account.

**What's supported**

At launch, the Schwab integration supports reviewing account data for meeting prep: holdings, transactions, account balances, and cost basis.

Schwab data does not flow into your Agenda or Advisor Notes. It appears in two places:

1. The Holdings and Transactions tabs in the client view
2. Ask Zeplyn (Zeplyn Agent Nexus)

**Before you start**

Two things need to be in place for Schwab data to appear:

- Schwab is connected for your firm.
- The client is linked to their Schwab account. A linked client shows custodian data on their record; an unlinked client does not.

If either is missing, see the Troubleshooting section below.

**Generating your meeting prep**

1. In the Advisor Hub, open the upcoming meeting you want to prepare for.
2. Select Generate Meeting Prep. Zeplyn builds a prep note with a suggested Agenda and Advisor Notes drawn from the client's prior meetings, notes, and CRM context.
3. Review and edit the Agenda and Advisor Notes, then select Save. This becomes your working prep for the meeting.

Meeting Prep covers the qualitative picture — what you discussed last time, open follow-ups, and suggested talking points. For the portfolio picture, review the client's Schwab data separately, as described below.

**Reviewing Schwab data as you prep**

Once the client is linked to Schwab, you have two ways to review their portfolio:

1. On the client record. Open the client and use the Holdings and Transactions tabs to see current positions and recent activity pulled from Schwab.
2. Through Ask Zeplyn (Zeplyn Agent Nexus). While you are in the client's context, ask for what you need in plain language. Exact phrasing is not required — these are examples:

- **Holdings / positions** — *"What are this client's current holdings?"*
- **Transactions** — *"Show me all sell transactions for this client in the last 6 months."*
- **Balances** — *"What's this client's cash available to trade?"*
- **Unrealized cost basis** — *"What's this client's unrealized gain on AAPL?"*
- **Realized gains** — *"How much did this client realize in gains last year?"*

**Tip:** Use what you find to sharpen your agenda — flag a large concentrated position to discuss, note recent cash raised, or tee up a tax conversation off realized gains. Reviewing this before the meeting means fewer "let me check and get back to you" moments in the room.

**Troubleshooting**

"Schwab isn't connected for your firm." The Schwab integration has not been connected yet, so there is no custodian account to pull data from. Any user with valid Schwab Advisor Center (SAC) credentials can connect it (there is also a shortcut under the client's More actions \> Go to Integrations).

The client record shows "No transactions to show" or no holdings. This usually means the client is not linked to a Schwab account yet, even though your firm is connected. Link the client to their Schwab account, then reload the Holdings or Transactions tab.

No Schwab data appears in your Agenda or Advisor Notes. This is expected. Schwab data does not flow into the prep note — review it in the client's Holdings and Transactions tabs, or ask Ask Zeplyn directly.
